Untitled-3 Sunday November 1st, the Wild Rose Hunting Retriever Club held a Pheasant Hunt Raffle draw. The lucky winner of the Pheasant hunt was was Allan Day with the winning ticket sold by club Vice President, Ron Adlington.
It’s been said that Allan Day is a renowned local shooter so it seems that the birds are in for a tough time.

There should be lots of exciting bird dog action and I am sure he will enjoy himself. We wish him the best of luck and as always a productive and safe hunt.

More about the improvements of the training grounds. If you have been to the Kathryn club grounds lately you likely have noticed the new mounds that have been installed. A work party to help shape these mounds for training purposes was canceled due to bad weather in October. However we are pleased to announce that the mounds have been seeded and should be ready for use in the spring time. Retriever Club members and their visitors are asked to please stay off the new mounds until the grass has a chance to get established.

Furthermore, members should be advised we are allowing our neighbor to graze their sheep and goats in an area on the North part of our training grounds in hopes they will help in thistle control. I am sure that this will be a welcome improvement and the partner ship with neighboring landowners can certainly be mutually beneficial.
As always please ensure that your dogs do not harass any animals, wild or domestic, found on the grounds.

There was also a meeting of the Wild Rose Hunting Retriever Club board members. The minutes of that meeting are to be posted here on a later date.
